Jackalope Fest started as a celebration of skateboarding and extreme sports but has now burgeoned into a three-day festival drawing elite athletes and thrill-seekers from around North America, showcasing street and vert skateboarding, BMX, Moto X, skimboarding, BASE jumping, highline, jet ski freestyle and more.

I was tasked with creating a unique type as image title of the Jackalope event. Jackalope Fest focuses on energy and living while empowering the youth (and the young at heart) through stories that inspire, connect, and elevate. This sense of boldness and intensity needed to come across in the event wordmark.

The wordmark relies on a bold hand drawn type with sharp edges to give it a sense of energy that the festival encapsulates. The hope is that this wordmark title would speak to the younger generation through its vibrance and draw more attention since this is who the festival is aimed towards.
